To Catch a Thief...

Or in this case, not a thief, but the main culprit, and instigator of the crime. Let's view the evidence.
Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:
Exhibit C:I think judging from the photographic evidence, we can deduce that Exhibits A&B, while seemingly caught red-handed (or white-faced), probably did not dump the offending carcinogen
on themselves willingly. Note Exhibit C. Her lack of death-causing powder leads us to believe that she may, in fact, be our criminal.

And now.. a word from our sponsors.

Random image, eh? This is My daughter, Abbie, holding a fantastic spoon that I've never used and a really cool heart shaped rock. Wow. Way to state the obvious.

This picture is for my dad, who I miss terribly. The full story, for those who care to hear it, is that my dad has a hobby he loves. LOVES. Like the way I feel about photography. Woodworking. My dad carved me this spoon. It's made of Birds Eye Maple. I'm told it was an extremely difficult wood to work with. He has carved each one of his daughters and daughters-in-law a spoon. I love my spoon. It does NOT get used in my kitchen. If something happened to it, I could never forgive myself... or the person who did it. I LOVE THIS SPOON. I hope to pass it on to my daughters, who can pass it on to their daughters, etc.

The rock, you see, had a very different artist. Abbie picked this rock up at Forgetmenot Pond in Alberta, Canada on our vacation last summer. "Look mom, a heart!" And of course, I had to admit, it was indeed heart-shaped. Amazing. Formed by Him. The big Him. Personally, I think He did a better job than any stone-carver could. And it took a really long time.

So I like to think that when I'm feeling down about my art (my art being photography, but also my kids and life in general...) about Him. And how very long it must have taken. And about how I am His art. I wonder if He ever feels discouraged? Just keep swimming, eh?

Dorking around.

There's a new look on my photography site. Definitely go check it out. Mostly just color schemes and whatnot. But a new logo. One I'm really happy about... and definitely sticking with. I tried in vain to change around the template on this blog, but alas, I'm not really template savvy. I did change the header picture up there! Go me!

There are some exciting things happening with AE Photography. To let those of you who are interested in booking a shoot with me know, I'm booking about 4 to 6 weeks out and I'll be out of town doing shoots in Utah April 10-17th. I'm booking April and May sessions now. If you want (and everyone does) pictures for Father's Day (June's not that far off!), please contact me sooner, rather than later.

I still have a couple spots available for Utah sessions. If you're interested, please email me!

Enough business... more pictures.

This past weekend my husband's company had a Company Picnic. It was fun, but... it was just so darn cold!!! Yes, I'm whining about our 60 degree weather. There was corn on the cob, cotton candy, sno cones, several bounce houses, a dunk tank, a climbing wall, and face painting. And yes, we let her. It was her first time. She picked out the design and everything. Was quite adamant about which one she wanted, despite my pleas that she get painted up as Jekyll and Hyde. Snow Queen it was.

Well, we'll see how this weekend goes. Anna just woke up puking on everything. I'm sure I'll be knee deep in vomit before tomorrow is over.

Go Me!

I did manage to take some pictures today. And I think the only kids not photographed at the park were my own. I don't have permission to share all of them, but it sufficeth to say that kids in general are dang cute.

I did manage to finally pick out and pick up some fabric for Abbie and Anna's Easter Dresses. I'm really displeased with my in store options. At least, the ones I can reasonably afford. All sleeveless. And since we're not doing the sleeveless thing, it would be necessary to either put a white shirt under (not cute) or a sweater over (cute, but hot). Considering that it's already 80ish here on a regular day, we'll be needing something cool. So, I picked out a pattern that looks easy enough, and then agonized over fabric. Finally making my choice today.
The girls dresses will be the same, but opposite. Does that make sense? Have I mentioned how much I freaking love that color of green?

Last from this series.

Finally figured out my camera/histogram issues. And I can now post the rest of these.
Ok, just one more.

I'm going to make every effort to pick up my camera tomorrow, but if not, there should definitely be new pictures some time this weekend. I have a slew of client shoots coming up...

If you're a client, keep your eyes peeled here (after your session, of course) for a sneak peek.

Hi All!

Been dealing with one very ornery child who makes huge messes and refuses to be obedient. No, not my 18 month old son. No, not my 3 year old daughter. Yes. That's right. The 5 year old Abbie. Testing boundaries, I suppose.

Ugh! What is this stage?? Why does she feel the need to take her entire carton of yogurt to the living room, dump it on the carpet and then proceed to smear it into the carpet? AND THEN!!! with her yogurt covered hands to wipe the yogurt off on every surface in our house. Let's just say that I think we'll being going sans yogurt for the next couple of weeks. Argh!

Haven't really been taking pictures, but I'll share some oldies with you (oldies, as in taken in the last month.
Yes, despite the total and complete frustration, I still love her.

Edited to add: And a thank you to Sheri, who pointed out my total lack of brain power this morning and my horrific misspelling of "ornery".
