While most of the rest of the country is gearing up for their colder months with things like jackets and socks, we're still living it up at the beach. Neener, neener Autumn! (This is merely my way of attempting to taunt you into making a visit here.)
Some good friends from our very first married ward (GO BYU 59th!) are in town this week doing the whole Disney thing. They had a single day when they weren't scheduled to partake of the magic, so we took them to the beach. A place we haven't been since Memorial Day 2007. Yeah, it's been awhile. Matt doesn't like sand. I blame him.
Matt, overseeing the kids. Or telling them to stop throwing sand, or something.
Lucas refuses to go to sleep while I hold him, but if he's tired and I hand him off to Matt, he's asleep in an instant.
Abbie spent the entire time collecting shells. I was an incredibly mean mom and wouldn't let her bring home all 300 shells she found.
The water was so delightfully warm. I'd have actually gotten in, if I didn't have a child trying to eat sand. No, not Miles, the other one.
Anna, also known as Abbie's shadow, had a great time. However, brushing her hair afterwards was kindof a nightmare.
Yeah, it's hard to believe it's October.

man that looks nice.
Ahhh the beach. I wish I lived closer to one. We have the same October weather as you. But you just can't beat our winters!
Last year after Christmas we were visiting my brother in Fort Walton Beach, and my kids went in the water then too. I sure do miss the leaves, and the cooler air from up North and out West, but it is also nice to be able to enjoy the warmth a little longer. Love the sandy pics.
if I had the money, i would totally fly out to visit you.
Wow a beach day in October, that would be so nice.
I am liking that the evenings are getting cooler here and it feels like Autumn, but I would also LOVE to be playing on the beach right now. Ivory gets out her swimsuit and I feel like I am breaking her heart to tell that that we won't be swimming until probably next May or so...meaning forever to her.
I have to ask who you had come out! Anyone we know?
John & Mia Johansen... she claimed she didn't know you.
I want to come to Florida. Totally jealous.
I'm so jealous! It was in the thirties here last night!!
That does look like fun. Although, I'm kind of scared of the water. I know I'm a wuss and I blame it entirely on mom's fear and refusal to take us to the beach until I was 12.
well, rest assured Jenny, that I possess that same fear... my kids go in the water up to their waists... miles, only to his knees.
I know one of my older comments was really stupid about cameras, I hope that doesn't turn our friendship off :) LOL!
I love october!!!!
beautiful family!
How fun! We went to the beach last week too. Except the water here is never warm.
And yea, your kids are dang cute.
I sooo want to go to the beach. Maybe when Samantha is a little older.
