Adjustment

I've had a lot of questions as to how the kids are adjusting to life with new lil' Libby. Perhaps a demonstration in pictures?

Abbie and Anna are in love. They are fantastic with her. They are a great help with holding her while I deal with whatever it is I need to deal with (read: Lucas). They adore her. They are going to prove to be my saving grace.

They are, however, consistently amazed by the actual tiny person she is. "Whoa! She just moved her hand!!" Yes, girls, she's not a robot.

She seems to like them too.

Moving on to Miles. ADORES HER. He really couldn't be more entranced and fascinated.

He doesn't seem to mind her screaming (and boy can she!) and he's very into holding her.

I happen to think it's a very beautiful thing; the older brother, baby sister phenomenon they've got going on.

And I guess that brings us to Lucas. Well, folks. It's as bad as I feared. On one hand, he thinks she's really cool. He ALWAYS wants to hold her. And it starts out innocently enough.

"Be soft, Lucas." To which he says, "soft, soft, soft" while petting her face. And then it quickly turns ugly.

He's just really curious.

And then you catch him with her toes in his mouth, for example.
And really, he tries to be so sweet.

(notice the black and white for effect)
But he just can't control himself.

Yes, it's really THAT bad.

I can tell he's really trying though. He SEEMS to be doing better everyday.
Like this morning, for example. He was really soft and kind to her for about three whole minutes. Which is why I have these images:

Baby steps, right?

She is so cute. I love the pictures. At least Lucas likes her right? (it could be worse, he could be hurting her because he doesn't like her right?) lol

Congratulations! She is beautiful. I agree with Becky, at least he likes her. Good luck. My bouncy seat was my best friend with Ben, cause I could move him around out of Hannah's reach. She really loved her brother too. I made my blog private, so just send me an email letting me know if you want to be a viewer. I was getting some really strange comments....about my daughter. Yikes.

Congratulations! The pictures of Lucas with your baby brings back memories of my oldest. He was so fascinated with his younger sister/brother especially their heads. He would start off on top then slowly start squeezing or touching their every inch of their face.

Abbie and Anna couldn't be cuter, that's wonderful that they are such good helpers. It's so cute that Lucas is at least interested in her :)

LOVE IT! I have no idea how you are walking let alone taking these cute pictures and posting them for us on your blog and facebook, but I appreciate it. They are so cute, and I know you will treasure them and they grow up.

I'm sorry but I just love the picture with his hand shoved in her mouth.. too dang cute! He'll get used to her soon enough, at least he isn't throwing things at her or trying to sit on her.

Love the update. I laughed out loud thinking about the girls and the "not a robot" phenomenon. You're awesome. Congrats again to you and Matt.
