More Knitting?

I realize that I'm posting an awful lot of knitting projects and that many of you do not, in fact, knit.
I didn't use to, either.
I have never taken a class.
About 10 years ago, I borrowed a knitting book from the library. If I remember correctly, I used some very cheap yarn and started with... sharpened pencils.   Yes.
I taught myself. And then, I promptly put aside knitting and decided to scrapbook instead (which I still do, on occasion).
Three-ish years ago after my brother, David, died (he was an avid knitter) I decided to pick up the needles again. I actually even made a really crappy pair of socks, using real needles this time. And then I put aside my knitting and decided to sew and take pictures, which I still do.

Then, last November, I decided to remind myself how to knit again since it was getting "cold" outside. This time, it stuck. I can't get enough. Knitting is the last thing I think about at night, and the first thing I think about in the morning... and what I dream about all night long. I find myself thinking up ways to slip in some knitting time and I almost always have a project with me.

If you would like to learn to knit... here are some excellent resources.

Great video tutorials. Also check out YouTube for anything you need help with.
www.ravelry.com
TONS and TONS of patterns, and people who know what they're doing. Great forums.

I would just love for each of you to learn to knit. I find it to be incredibly relaxing and it makes me feel like a million bucks when I have a finished project. Like this one:
Many thanks to my friend, Melinda, for helping me to get a good shot of Miss Libby in her new dress.
I decided on these hilarious little bobble buttons.

This cannot be the same child you just gave birth to, she's too big! How do they do that so fast? I have a 3 month old who is also growing lightning fast.

Your knitting skills are amazing! That dress is soo cute!

I really love your knitting posts. My mother knit for forty years; my daughter's blessing dress and bonnet were knit by hand. My mother also knit my little sister's full length Holy Communion dress. I used to know how to knit as a child and would like to take it up again. I find I can concentrate better if my hands are occupied. I also plan to teach Scooter to knit because he is the same as his mother.

Every time I think it's too hot to knit where I live, I think of you in Florida. It's hot at your house, too! And you still knit! Keep posting your projects. They are very inspiring, and one of these days I will pick up my needles again.

Love that purple dress!

No way. Gorgeous. I love the bobble buttons. I love the design. I love the color. I am amazed.

I remember you teaching a group of us to knit for mother/kids morning out in provo. I think at Marielle's. I was hopeless. I think we were doing hotpads. I made one 5 inch line into a really tight ball to the point I pretty much could not move my needles. Maybe when I'm 50.

Ok, ok, you are maybe inspiring me to try knitting. My mom is a self-confessed knit-aholic, but I've never been able to do it.
That dress is so cute and I think the buttons add a great touch!

Knitting. Yes. More, more, more.

Since my baby is due in October I'd better get started on some of those adorable little pants that you made.

Absolutely adorable. I have finally decided that I just need to give teaching myself to knit another go as although I have someone willing to teach me. I just can't figure dragging 3 kids to lessons and expect to get anything done.

That is amazing! Looking at your stuff always makes me want to knit, but then I pick up the needles and remember that I hate knitting. :) I'd better stick to my crocheting.

Miss Libby and her dress are adorable. Can you tell us where to find that pattern? Ravelry? ...or is it in a book? Thanks! I would love to knit it for a granddaughter!
