As it turns out, the cheap childhood games we played are the very same ones that I relish and long for my children to enjoy.
Things like...
Three legged races.

![uh oh.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3214/2723430471_766494da6b_o.jpg)
And Red Light, Green Light and Mother May I, but I don't have pictures of those... so keep an eye on Jenny's blog, too, because I think she will eventually have them up.
We also entertained ourselves with things like...
![swing.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3253/2724252632_6106ab6fd2_o.jpg)
Swinging and climbing on the rope swings. There has been a rope swing on this tree for the better part of the last 22 years. Poor tree.

What else? Oh yeah, races.

![racing.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3253/2724253244_30ff5fce91_o.jpg)
Making necklaces, bracelets and headresses out of clover flowers. Yes, even for the boys.

I guess some occasional parent interaction is okay. But just to spin you around.
![spin!](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3211/2723430207_c68d5246a6_o.jpg)
And in general, just getting really dirty... and REALLY sweaty.
![again, ew. sweaty.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3294/2723429887_58158eb5a7_o.jpg)
![another sweaty kid](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3098/2724252048_856bb4bd8d_o.jpg)
![sweaty kid.](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2334/2724252118_7fe8ee1c5c_o.jpg)
(if that one of Miles doesn't make you guffaw, you're dead to me.)
But, I guess that sometimes, kids just get tired of entertaining themselves. They just can't bring themselves to do any more swinging or sliding...
![um. not it.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3034/2723430281_0dff70e9ab_o.jpg)
![not so pleased.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3108/2724252454_06d0b454d1_o.jpg)
and that's when Mom offers you a popsicle.
![clever kid.](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3171/2723430871_97689b2554_o.jpg)
and you attempt to eat it through a butterfly net.
Kids are weird, man!

GREAT pictures. I really love the last four.
Your kids are seriously yummy!
Those are great pics- but I don't expect anything else from you. That one of Miles KILLS me! What a punk!
Ok, it just has to be said; your kids are some of the cutest kids I have ever seen! (Don't tell anyone else I said that.) :) Seriously, you could retire on their good looks.
Keep the pictures coming. We love em'.
How did you and Matt produce such good looking kids? I love the three legged race pictures.
I love it, I love it, I love it. BTW, We need to swap pics because you got pics of a lot of things I didn't and perhaps vice versa.
That last picture totally made me laugh out loud. I woke up my husband up with a hearty HA!! Love these.
I always look forward to your blog pictures. They are amazing. Your children are beautiful! Care to share some photography tips with your readers? Beginning with a nice easy, reasonably priced camera to work with. Right now I have a Canon PowerShot SD900 Digital Elph. It's ok, but it seems to me I would like a faster shutter speed for the kids pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
loely shots of timeless ummer fun- I dig a 3 legged race
I love it! Sorry I missed you guys, no one told me when the open house was! That pic with the cider block scares me!! Great Pics!!
